Center Point Went Over the Edge!

Center Point’s inaugural Over the Edge event exceeded all expectations and was the talk of the Gainesville Downtown Square.  Adding to the excitement of the First Friday activities, 26 individuals took part in rappelling down the seven floors (or 132.150 sq. ft.!) of the Main Street Parking Garage.

Center Point, a long-time non-profit member of the Gainesville community, partnered with the internationally known organization, Over the Edge.  Center Point raised over $35,000.00 by giving donors the opportunity of a lifetime.  Through a unique adventure experience of safely rappelling down a multi-floor structure, this inaugural Over the Edge event provided a positive community building activity.  Additionally, it helped an outstanding organization raise funds for their mission to inspire growth, support well-being, and empower brighter futures for Gainesville and Hall County students and their families.

Whether team building for co-workers or colleagues to build morale or participating as a family, there are no limitations on who can participate (rappelers must be at least 100 lbs. with minors having parental approval; handicapped individuals are also invited to participate).

Engaging with non-profits for over 20 years, the Over the Edge organization has an impeccable safety record.  Through these unique events, Over the Edge has helped raise over $145 million dollars to date with over 110,000 participants that represent over 1,400 events a

cross the U.S. and abroad.  All rappelers were expected to raise at least $1,000.00 each to participate.  Sponsorship opportunities were offered that included rappeler slots.  One corporate participant, Carroll Daniel Construction, decided

to “Toss the Boss” and raised funds within the company to get their boss, Al Petrangeli, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, to Go Over the Edge.

Center Point is already planning the 2026 event to be held on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026.  We are certain sponsorships, and rappelling slots will go fast for next year’s event, so sign up now to reserve an opportunity for you, your staff, and your organization to Go Over the Edge with Center Point.  Check this experience off of your bucket list and give yourself bragging rights.
